Statement on release of reports regarding the shooting of Mr. Donald Dunphy

NDP Justice Critic Gerry Rogers

NDP Justice Critic Gerry Rogers (MHA, St. John’s Centre) today acknowledged the release of five reports related to the investigation of the shooting of Mr. Donald Dunphy, calling the release “an important step as we move forward towards understanding what happened at Mr. Dunphy’s house that day in April 2015.”

Rogers says the reports raise serious concerns about the events preceding, during, and following Mr. Dunphy’s death. “These are issues that must be addressed and now the Commission of Inquiry Respecting the Death of Donald Dunphy, chaired by Justice Leo Barry, must do its work to provide insight into the questions the public has been asking since the shooting took place,” she said.
