Today in the House of Assembly NDP Municipal Affairs Critic George Murphy (MHA, St. John’s East) raised the issue of municipal funding arrangements with the provincial government.

 

Christopher Mitchelmore, NDP MHA for The Straits-White Bay North, had a question today for the Minister of Health about the dialysis unit in St. Anthony.

NDP Environment and Conservation critic George Murphy (MHA, St. John’s East) says Minister Terry French may need to look a little more closely at the reservation system in place for the province’s parks before he talks about how well the system is working.

NDP Environment and Conservation critic George Murphy (MHA, St. John’s Centre) asked in the House of Assembly today what, if anything, government is doing to correct ongoing problems with the reservations systems for the provincial parks.

The system opened for bookings last Thursday at 7 a.m. Callers who got through right at 7 were told that many seasonal sites were already gone.

 

Today in the House of Assembly NDP Fisheries and Aquaculture Critic Christopher Mitchelmore (MHA, The Straits – White Bay North) asked government to step up their action on the Englee fish plant.

NDP Leader Lorraine Michael (MHA, Signal Hill-Quidi Vidi) questioned government’s commitment to seniors in two separate areas. With this budget, people in receipt of income support will no longer be forced to apply for their Canada Pension benefits as soon as they turn 60.
