The Muskrat Falls project is way over budget, diverting funds from other needs and potentially doubling electricity bills, and it has raised serious concerns about damage to the environment and downstream communities.
Nalcor and the provincial government have not been transparent or accountable about how we ended up in this situation, and the people of the province are left with many unanswered questions. For example, a 2013 risk assessment report made public in June 2017 makes it clear that initial cost estimates and financial risks for the Muskrat Falls hydroelectric project were understated. Why was the 2013 report not previously made public?
