Mr. Speaker, it is our understanding from discussions with people inside Eastern Health that the wireless patient monitoring machines being used at the Health Sciences Centre were removed from two places in Quebec and are not used elsewhere in the country.

NDP MHA Christopher Mitchelmore is asking the provincial fisheries, Darin King, to clarify the province’s position on fleet separation.

The minister was at the Boston International Seafood Show earlier this week and met with his federal counterpart Keith Ashfield.

 

Today in the House of Assembly Lorraine Michael (MHA, Signal Hill – Quidi Vidi) asked the premier to show her government’s work on a number of decisions related to the Joint Review Panel’s Report.

NDP Leader Lorraine Michael (MHA, Signal Hill-Quidi Vidi) is wondering why the provincial government is ignoring the Newfoundland and Labrador Federation of Labour’s recommended appointment to the Labour Relations Board.

 

MS MICHAEL: Mr. Speaker, on Sunday, March 10, I had the great honour of attending the fiftieth anniversary People of the Sea Service at George Street United Church.

This service in that wonderful, beautiful church was a moving reminder of how closely our history in this city is entwined with the powerful and complex ocean around us.
