Private Member’s Statement
Wigmore Seniors Association

Mr. Speaker,

I rise today to tell this House about a group of volunteers who make life more pleasant for the residents of their building.

MR. SPEAKER: The hon. the Member for The Straits – White Bay North.

MR. MITCHELMORE: Thank you, Mr. Speaker.

MR. SPEAKER: The hon. the Member for St. John’s North.

MR. KIRBY: Mr. Speaker, not surprisingly, the word green does not appear anywhere in government’s Outlook: 2020 labour market report. Any forward looking government would have a plan to prepare for a green economy workforce.

MR. SPEAKER: The hon. the Member for St. John’s Centre.

MS ROGERS: Mr. Speaker, we know that Bill C-10 means increased downloading on the provincial corrections system in the near future and that the federal government has made it clear they have no intention to fund the construction of a new prison to replacement Her Majesty’s Penitentiary.

MR. SPEAKER: The hon. the Member for The Straits – White Bay North.

MR. MITCHELMORE: Thank you, Mr. Speaker.

MR. SPEAKER: The hon. the Member for St. John’s North.

MR. SPEAKER: The hon. the Leader of the Third Party.

MS MICHAEL: Thank you, Mr. Speaker.

Mr. Speaker, over the weekend we learned that government did not include the military auto taped audio tapes in the review of the search and rescue service protocol surrounding the Burton Winter tragedy.

MR. SPEAKER: The hon. the Member for St. John’s Centre.
