Rogers presses health minister on inadequate addictions services
Today in the House of Assembly NDP Health and Community Services Critic Gerry Rogers (MHA, St. John’s Centre) asked government about the crises in methadone treatments.
“As the drug addiction crisis in the province grows,” said Rogers, “what is the minster doing to quickly deal with the situation?”
People with addictions are being forced to wait for months while health professionals say wraparound services delivered in a timely manner are need to help patients successfully beat their addictions.
“These are your experts minister, why aren’t you listening to them and giving them the resources they need to do their jobs properly?” asked Rogers in the House.
