NDP looks for ECE commitment from minister of education

NDP Education Critic Dale Kirby (MHA, St. John’s North) raised concerns about the people excluded from government’s planned wage supplement for Level II Early Childhood Educators who operate centers.

On May 29, the Association of Early Childhood Educators of Newfoundland and Labrador stated in a position paper, “Government’s position that this is intended to encourage more Level II ECEs to leave working directly with children to become operators of centres is misguided.”

“Will the minister now commit to a more equitable solution for all ECEs?” asked Kirby in the House of Assembly today.
