Housing Strategy

NDP Housing Critic Gerry Rogers (MHA, St. John’s Centre) has written a letter to Premier Dunderdale imploring her to raise housing issues at the Council of the Federation meetings taking place this week.

NDP Housing Critic Gerry Rogers (MHA, St. John’s Centre) is not happy that when the provincial government thinks of housing, it thinks only of the social housing for which very few people qualify. Rogers says she is tired of hearing the repeated iterations of how much government has spent on reroofing existing social housing, and this government has to stop denying there’s a housing crisis.

NDP Housing Critic Gerry Rogers (MHA, St. John’s Centre) is renewing her call for the provincial government to develop a comprehensive housing strategy that addresses the full spectrum of housing needs in the province, not just social housing.

The renewed call comes after another story of a family getting squeezed out by the current housing crisis hits the media this week.
