NDP Environment and Conservation critic George Murphy (MHA, St. John’s East) wants government to put the brakes on its decision to put provincial parklands up for sale, a decision Murphy describes as “a short-sighted cash grab that endangers dozens of unique ecological sites.”

NDP Environment and Conservation critic George Murphy (MHA, St. John’s East) says Minister Terry French may need to look a little more closely at the reservation system in place for the province’s parks before he talks about how well the system is working.

NDP Environment and Conservation critic George Murphy (MHA, St. John’s Centre) asked in the House of Assembly today what, if anything, government is doing to correct ongoing problems with the reservations systems for the provincial parks.

The system opened for bookings last Thursday at 7 a.m. Callers who got through right at 7 were told that many seasonal sites were already gone.
